the 30th Annual Texas A&M Industrial Fire School Golf Tournament in College Station, TX
West Chester, PA. July 19, 2018/News and Updates/ -- Chief Fire, an American manufacturer and fire apparatus expert located in the Greater Philadelphia area sponsored the 30th annual Texas A&M Industrial Fire School Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
The tournament was held at The Campus Course in College Station, TX. Groups of four participated in the scramble to help kick off the 56th Annual Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) Industrial Fire School. The 6-day training and fire school was held the week of July 15-20 where it aims to help educate and train firefighters who respond to fires and incidents in large industrial settings.
Chief Fire was proud to be a premium sponsor of the golf tournament. Participants were able to see an Otter™ up close, lift the patent-pending composite pump, and even had an opportunity to WIN THEIR OWN! If they scored a hole-in-one on the Par 3 hole #5, they would win an Otter Pump System.
Quick recap: What is the Otter? The Otter is a new ultra-lightweight, high volume, composite floating source pump (Patent pending) used for remote water supply sourcing and emergency dewatering operations. Using the latest advancements in composite body technology, the Otter weighs in at only 85 lbs (38.5 kg), making it extremely mobile and adaptable to unique emergency situations. The unit provides an enormous deployment advantage by being physically manageable by one or two emergency responders.
"Overall the event was a great success" said Nick Kusturiss, Engineering Manager at Chief Fire. "We were able to display our system and fire professionals were able to see how compact yet powerful the Otter can be. The realization once users see its mobility and adaptability inspires us to continue designing and building products that will make a difference in the industry."
But it didn't stop there - - Chief also sponsored all other Par 3's on the course (for a grand total of 4 holes). If participants had a perfect shot on any other Par 3, they could win a flatscreen TV, roundtrip airfare for 2, or Callaway Irons.
